Answers to common questions we get asked with booking Shrewley Village Hall
Who do I contact about hiring the hall?
First visit the How to Book page, then visit the Booking Calendar page and use the Hallmaster system to make your booking request.
Is the hall heated?
Yes, there are electric wall heaters
Do you have tables and chairs?
Yes, there are sufficient tables and chairs to seat 100 people. There are small tables and chairs for 30 children
Do you provide tea, coffee etc?
No. Use of the kitchen is included in the hall hire but you must provide your own refreshments.
Do you allow caterers?
Yes.
Do you provide tablecloths/linen?
No.
Do you have crockery & cutlery?
Yes, sufficient for 100
Do you have a dishwasher?
Yes
What equipment is available in the kitchen for hirers to use?
There is a fully fitted professional kitchen including oven, warming cupboards and dishwasher.
I would like to have a bar for my function. Is this possible?
We have a Premises Licence that will allow you to sell alcohol at your event, subject to normal licensing regulations.
Do you have a specific area for bar facilities?
There is an area at the back of the hall that can be used to create a bar.
What about glasses?
Limited glasses can be provided on request.
Do you have baby changing facilities?
Yes.
Are there fire extinguishers?
Yes
I am a wheelchair user. Will I be able to access all areas of the hall?
You can access all areas except the stage.
I wear a hearing aid; do you have a loop system?
Yes
Do you have WiFi?
Yes, the hall has high speed WiFi.
Do you have a stage and lighting?
Yes
What parking is available?
There is a car park at the front of the hall and additional parking is available down the side and at the rear
Do you allow bouncy castles?
Bouncy castles are permitted outside, subject to the hirer being fully responsible for its use. Bouncy castles are NOT PERMITTED inside the hall
Does the hall have a First Aid Kit?
Yes. It is located in the kitchen.
Does the hall have a defibrillator?
There is a defibrillator on the wall outside the front door. If you think you need to use this, phone 999 first, then send someone to fetch the defibrillator if instructed to do so by the emergency call handler
Can I leave rubbish?
Black bin bags are available and can be left in the wheelie bin outside the Village Hall for collection. There are also bins for recyclables.
Can we play live music?
Yes – the Hall is licensed for live and recorded music and the performance of dance. All music MUST finish by 11.30pm.
Are dogs allowed in the hall and grounds?
Well behaved dogs are allowed in the hall and grounds, but NOT in the children’s play area
