Robert Burns Birthday on January 25th 2025 saw the return of the Shrewley Parish 6th annual Burns Supper Fundraiser. A traditional fun event attended by 88 locals to raise funds for the maintenance of the Childrens outdoor play area at the rear of the village hall. The evening began as always with a warm and loud welcome from our regular Bag Piper, Jonathan. Once everyone had visited the licensed bar, selling wine and imported Scottish beer and gin- they took their seats to enjoy a four course traditional Scottish Supper including Cock-a-Leekie Soup, Haggis with Neeps & Tatties and a selection of wonderful Scottish cheese and oatcakes. Tony and his band were back for the third time to keep everyone right on the dance floor and a riotous ceilidh was enjoyed by all. Sheona Alemi and the organising team would like to say a big thank you to; everyone that helped on the night, those that generously donated raffle prizes and all those in attendance who helped raised £1500.
